Microblogging platform, Twitter (branded X) will now have audio and video call features, Elon Musk announced on Thursday.
The social media platform owner revealed this today in a post via his verified X handle.
Musk noted that, when implemented, the new features will work on iOS, Android, Mac and Personal Computers (PC).
Musk added that the features will not require a phone number to work.
“Video & audio calls coming to X. Works on iOS, Android, Mac & PC. No phone number is needed.”
“X is the effective global address book. That set of factors is unique,” Musk revealed.
Bahdstreetvibes reports that the tech billionaire businessman has, since taking over the social media site in October 2022, introduced quite a lot of features.
The most recent in the rebranding of the platform’s logo to X from a bird logo. Musk has also introduced the blue check mark a subscription-only feature, introducing community notes, and monetization of content.
On Saturday, July 1, Musk set temporary limits on the social media platform to address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, in another post, Musk warned that “Any attempts to manipulate the creator compensation program on this platform will result in account suspension.”
