Veteran comedian and actor, Julius Agwu, has said reports claiming his estranged wife, Ibiere Maclayton married him because of money are false
Bahdstreetvibes recalls that some days back, a section of the media had reported that the thespian made some insinuations during an interview which might mean that his estranged wife married him because he had money.
In the interview with Punch, Agwu said, “I believe that any marriage without God would not last. When I married my wife, I did not even consult God. Some of us got married when there was so much money, and at that time, practically every girl wanted to be with us.
“But, after marriage, if anything happens to one, they would say, “I don’t want this man again”. I suggest that people should consult God first before getting married.”
However, in an Instagram live session with media personality Daddy Freeze, Julius Agwu said he did not mean his wife married him for money.
He insisted that he never said such.
Daddy Freeze: “They said you said your wife, IB, married you because of money. Please, address that.”
Julius Agwu: “I was interviewed by The Punch. I never said anything like that. I saw that thing recently, Segun Arinze sent it to me.
“I can never debase myself like that. My former wife never married me for any money. And Julius Agwu never said that. She is the mother of my children. I can never say something like that about her.”
