Young Jonn, a Nigerian singer, revealed in a recent interview with Revolt that he became an artist by accident. He explained that he never intended to pursue a career as a singer, but life led him in that direction.
“I never really planned to be an artist, but life just took me there,” he said.
Reflecting on his transition from producer to artist, Jonn acknowledged that it was a challenging learning process. He emphasized that being an artist is a completely different experience that involves a new level of hustle, grind, and understanding of the music business.
“It took me some time, but I believe I am starting to grasp it.”
Young Jonn mentioned that Olamide, Kizz Daniel, and Lil Kesh were his inspirations as he was trying to establish himself as an artist. Jonn collaborated with Olamide’s YBNL Nation early in his career and produced several songs for Lil Kesh, Olamide, and other artists signed to the label.
