Nollywood actor and producer Yomi Fabiyi has disclosed a menacing message sent to a neighbor of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad. According to Fabiyi, the message was received on September 11, 2024, and it threatened the lives of the neighbor and his children. The message also indicated that they were under surveillance and their car’s license plate number was known.
Fabiyi, who has been outspoken about seeking justice for Mohbad, revealed that the threatening message was sent just before he and the neighbor were set to meet with the technician in charge of the CCTV at Mohbad’s residence. The CCTV footage was anticipated to provide further insight into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s passing.
Fabiyi stated that the residence of the deceased singer was equipped with functioning CCTV cameras placed in multiple areas, such as the staircase, living room, kitchen, backyard, and front gate.
He asserted that the occupants of the house were knowledgeable about the events that took place, and that the recordings from the cameras could contain vital information.
Fabiyi also indicated that additional footage from nearby houses could potentially provide substantial evidence.
Fabiyi sent a firm message to the authorities, stating that justice for Mohbad is imperative and should not be compromised. He cautioned that if the police and government attempted to conceal the case by allowing further deaths, it would be the responsibility of Nigerians to demand transparency. He also expressed apprehension for his own safety, revealing that he is currently in hiding, even while overseas, due to threats against his life.
“My freedom of movement has been temporarily restricted,” Fabiyi stated. “I am currently in hiding because there are threats to assassinate me for simply exercising my basic rights.”
He then proceeded to accuse various individuals, such as an actress, a member of the transport union, a high-ranking police officer, and state officials, of being part of the conspiracy against him.
Despite the risks involved, Fabiyi maintained a strong stance, asserting that justice would ultimately prevail.
“Justice for Mohbad! The struggle continues!” he concluded.
