Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has publicly criticized his fellow musician Davido for what he perceives as “bad advice” given during a recent dinner they shared in the United States.
Portable, famous for his hit song “Zazu,” stated that Davido, who is signed to Sony Music, advised him against joining the same label, suggesting instead that he sign with Empire.
Expressing concern over potential manipulation, Portable mentioned his aspirations for a Grammy award, similar to Davido’s achievements. He questioned Davido’s recommendation to join a label that may not have the influence to help him secure such a prestigious accolade.
During a recent Instagram Live session, Portable expressed his frustration with the advice he was receiving from those connected to Sony Music. He mentioned that they were suggesting he try to get signed to Empire in America to collect an advance, despite both him and them chasing the same Grammy. The controversial singer emphasized that he values helpers who genuinely support him and do not engage in gossip or provide misguided advice. He also praised Olamide for his direct assistance and Skepta for giving him a verse, money, shoes, clothes, and connections to big fashion brands.
