Portable has been released from custody after meeting the conditions for bail

Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been released from the custody of the Lagos State Police Command.

Portable was arrested on Tuesday for reportedly failing to complete the payment for his luxury car, the G-Wagon. He had purchased a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from car dealer Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos) in Lagos.

It was reported that Portable had only paid N13 million after buying the vehicle, which was valued at N27 million. He allegedly refused to pay the remaining N14 million.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed to Vanguard on Wednesday evening that the singer had been released.

When asked about whether Portable had resolved the matter, the spokesman responded, “I am not aware of the details, but I can confirm that he has been granted bail.”
