Former President of the United States, Barack Obama, has recently unveiled his annual summer playlist. This year, the playlist includes songs by Nigerian music artists Tems and Rema, as well as South African singer Tyla.
Obama selected Tems’ ‘Love Me Jeje’, Rema’s ‘Yayo’, and Tyla’s ‘Jump’ featuring Gunna and Skillibeng as his top African songs of the summer.
Nigerian-American country music star Shaboozey’s song “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” has taken the number one spot on Obama’s list. Obama shared his playlist via X on Monday, stating, “With summer coming to a close, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been enjoying lately – and of course, it wouldn’t be my playlist without a mix of different genres. I hope you discover some new music to enjoy!” The playlist included songs from a diverse range of artists from around the world.
