Transfer Updates On Matheus Nunes, Cole Palmer, Lenglet, Kristiansen, Guendouzi

The 2023 Summer transfer window will close on September 1, which means that clubs that need to make additions this summer have about two days to do so.

In line with that, Manchester City who have made some interesting deals already this summer, have reached a verbal agreement with Wolves to sign midfielder Matheus Nunes for a transfer fee worth £47.3 million.

Initially, it was believed that Wolves wanted £60 million for the 25-year-old Portuguese midfielder but they have decided to lower the asking price to ensure that the deal is completed before Friday.

As it stands, Manchester City and Matheus Nunes have not officially agreed on personal terms yet but that is not expected to be a problem.

Recall that Bahdstreetvibes has reported that Matheus Nunes had to miss training earlier this week to force Wolves to sell him to Manchester City this summer.

Chelsea Eye Cole Palmer

Chelsea have shown strong interest in England’s under-21 forward Cole Palmer but no official bid has been submitted yet.

Even though Cole Palmer is not a top choice for Pep Guardiola, the 21-year-old England international has had a great start to the season as he scored in Manchester City’s Super Cup win against Sevilla and also scored in City’s Community Shield defeat to Arsenal earlier this month.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino is said to be looking for one more offensive player who fits the right profile which means versatility, a feature Cole Palmer is known for as he can play in attack and midfield.

Aston Villa Target Clement Lenglet

Aston Villa are on the verge of signing Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet, 28, on loan from FC Barcelona as a potential replacement for injured Tyrone Mings.

Mings injured his knee in Aston Villa’s 5-1 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United in the league opener and could be sidelined for months.

Bahdstreetvibes gathered that there is no buy option inserted in Lenglet’s loan deal with Aston Villa. The Premier League side will be responsible for 75% of his salary.

Mattéo Guendouzi Set for Medical

Former Arsenal star, Mattéo Guendouzi, is set to leave French Ligue 1 club, Marseille for Italian side Lazio this summer on a season-long loan.

He has been booked to undergo medical examination today, August 30 and his loan deal comes with a €1 million loan fee, a €12m obligation to buy, 10% sell-on clause for Marseille which have all been sealed.

Victor Kristiansen Leaves Leicester City

Victor Kristiansen has escaped from relegated Leicester City on loan to Italian Serie A side, Bologna.

His one-season loan deal comes with a buy option clause and a future four-year contract according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
