During a recent interview on the ‘Is This Seat Taken’ podcast, the “Peru” hitmaker described meeting Wande Coal as a pivotal moment in his life. Fireboy disclosed that he feels a deep sense of admiration whenever he is in the presence of the veteran artist.
Fireboy expressed how he felt when he first met Wande Coal, saying, “It was a dream meeting Wande Coal for the first time. I become a child when he is around. He is a legend. That meeting was both a blessing and a surreal moment for me.” He credited Wande Coal as the inspiration behind his decision to pursue music, emphasizing the significant influence the “Ololufe” singer has had on his career.
In tribute to his mentor, Fireboy dedicated a track titled “Wande’s Song” on his fourth studio album ‘Adedamola’.
